Daniel Ives joined the executive team at GBH Insights in October 2017. Dan is responsible for developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining corporate strategic initiatives at GBH. As part of his CSO role, Dan is also leading the company’s research platform and corporate strategy in the technology sector, which includes areas of GBH focus such as the smartphone ecosystem, cyber security, cloud computing, social media, augmented reality, and big data among other areas across the technology food chain. Prior to joining GBH, Dan has spent almost two decades in the technology space as he was Managing Director and Senior Analyst for the Technology, Media and Telecom equity research group at FBR Capital Markets in NYC, with a focus on enterprise software/hardware and the mobile landscape, gaining a strong reputation on Wall Street for his industry expertise and contacts. Most recently, Dan was EVP of Finance and Corporate Development at Synchronoss, a global mobile cloud vendor, which gained him deep industry experience in the smartphone market across the United States, Europe, and Japan to further complement his industry expertise in the evolving next generation mobile and carrier landscape.
Dan has been cited regularly by major news publications for his technology expertise including hundreds of television appearances on networks such as CNBC, ABC, BNN, Bloomberg, and Fox with commentary often cited by publications such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Investors Business Daily, Financial Times, and New York Times among others. Prior to FBR, Mr. Ives held various corporate finance roles at Home Box Office (HBO) in NYC. Dan holds a BS in Finance from Penn State University and an MBA from the University of Maryland. Outside of work, Dan spends his weekends on the baseball fields or tennis courts watching his children Aaron and Jordyn. He met his wife Robyn while at Penn State in 1993 and they are season ticket holders and remain avid Penn State fans often traveling to State College for games.
